Screening

Step 1 - You or your physician should contact Centre cardio-respiratoire Outaouais by phone at 819-246-2227 or by fax at 819-246-2212.

Step 2 – We will give you an appointment within 3 days.

Step 3 – The respiratory therapist explains you what is sleep apnea and teaches you how to use the screening machine that you must wear at night.

Step 4 – You must bring the machine back to the clinic the next day and the respiratory therapist will transfer the collected data to a medical specialist (pneumologist), who will analyze it.

Step 5 – If the sleep apnea diagnostic is positive, we will conduct another analysis (titration). This test will allow us to suggest a treatment that is adapted to your needs.

Centre cardio-respiratoire Outaouais works closely with associates to properly control your sleep apnea. We can help you to quickly see a pneumologist specialized in sleep apnea in order to receive treatment with various respirators (servo-ventilation), in case of complex sleep apnea. We also help you choose a dentist specialized in dental prostheses.

We send all the results and reports obtained with the CPAP-BIPAP machines to your treating physician.

Most insurance companies cover the fees incurred to study your record. In order to check with your insurer if they cover the test for sleep apnea, you must mention that you will undergo a polysomnography.

All insurance companies cover a part (usually 80%) of the fees incurred when buying a CPAP machine.
