Screening Step 1 - You or your physician should contact Centre cardio-respiratoire Outaouais by phone at 819-246-2227 or by fax at 819-246-2212. Step 2 – We will give you an appointment within 3 days. Step 3 – The respiratory therapist explains you what is sleep apnea and teaches you how to use the screening machine that you must wear at night. Step 4 – You must bring the machine back to the clinic the next day and the respiratory therapist will transfer the collected data to a medical specialist (pneumologist), who will analyze it. Step 5 – If the sleep apnea diagnostic is positive, we will conduct another analysis (titration). This test will allow us to suggest a treatment that is adapted to your needs. Centre cardio-respiratoire Outaouais works closely with associates to properly control your sleep apnea. We can help you to quickly see a pneumologist specialized in sleep apnea in order to receive treatment with various respirators (servo-ventilation), in case of complex sleep apnea. We also help you choose a dentist specialized in dental prostheses. We send all the results and reports obtained with the CPAP-BIPAP machines to your treating physician.
All insurance companies cover a part (usually 80%) of the fees incurred when buying a CPAP machine.
